Services Offered by Merlin:

Lomilomi style massage is best characterized by its long fluid strokes, sweeping use of the forearms, gentle swaying stretches, and generous amounts of warm coconut oil. The specifics of this type of massage are customized with the client’s needs in mind. Lomilomi is simultaneously invigorating and relaxing. It’s stimulates both your pono (balance) and mana (power).

Craniosacral therapy is a holistic healing technique. It utilizes light touching to interface with the nervous system and the cerebrospinal (relating to the brain and spine) spaces within the body. Its therapeutic influence also includes the spine, neck and cranium and the body’s hemispheric joints. Craniosacral is especially beneficial when balanced with other massage techniques.

Swedish massage is the most common form of classical massage. It is characterized by kneading muscles, vibration and centripetal massage strokes, which are strokes that move towards the heart. It aims to improve tissue elasticity, enhance circulation and promote healing and deep relaxation.

Deep Tissue

Deep Tissue massage, while similar to Swedish massage, utilizes beneficial deep pressure to release chronic muscle tension. It focuses on the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. Deep massage is more than just extra pressure, it focuses on the fascia which is the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints. This style of massage is easily layered into other techniques.

Hot Stone

Hot Stone massage is a profoundly healing and pleasant massage style. It can be layered with other massage techniques to provide maximum benefit for the client. History confirms that hot stone massage has been in use for over 2,000 years as a means of improving circulation, relaxation, healing and vitality.

Neuromuscular therapy, also known as Trigger Point therapy, is a specialized form of deep massage in which specific points are stimulated to release toxins and pain. These areas of strain, commonly called trigger points, are the source of muscular pain symptoms. These points of hypersensitivity in a muscle are caused by trauma and static metabolites. This therapy serves as an effective method of release.

Reflexology is a therapeutic method of relieving pain by stimulating predefined pressure points on the feet and hands. This controlled pressure alleviates the source of the discomfort. In the absence of any particular malady or abnormality, reflexology may be as effective for promoting good health and for preventing illness as it may be for relieving symptoms of stress, injury, and illness.

Merlin is also a photographer with over 20 years of professional experience and a seasoned wilderness guide having led many groups deep into the wilderness for multi-day expeditions.

I had an amazing session with Merlin . He checked in with me about pressure and comfort appropriately throughout the massage. He worked out the knots in the areas I asked and I left feeling 110% better than when I walked in. I was in a total state of bliss.
